A well executed mural will help make your home standout as the jewel of the neighbourhood. It is a magnificent and memorable conversation piece to amaze your guests.
A mural is also one of the most marvellous gifts you could give your children as the pleasure they will derive from it will last for years.
Almost any idea can be transformed into a handsome mural.
FEE FOR SERVICE
There is no definite amount as all work is subjective and will differ greatly from one mural to the next. To get an idea of what this amount might be there are some questions that will need answering.
-where are you based?
-what are the dimensions of the room?
-is the mural to be painted on all the walls?
-are the walls in good condition?
-does this include ceiling?
-how complex is the image ?
-is the painting interior or exterior?
Fees range from £500 - £5,000 or more depending on complexity.

During our consultation I will discuss the best options possible for your design and help inspire you to create a unique mural that is personal to you, your family or your business.

Double click COMMISSIONING A MURAL
Initial contact
This would be a telephone conversation or an exchange of email messages. We will discuss any ideas you may have. You may have some magazine clippings, personal photographs or images from books. I can then help you develop those ideas. If you would like a Mural but have no idea of what you'd like, you can have a look at the top of this page- there you will find a list of mural ideas.
Consultation
We will arrange to meet at the site you want your mural to be painted. I may bring along some reference images that I have gathered after our initial discussion.
Quotation and design
I will then estimate the amount of time it might take to complete the mural and then give you a quotation based on those hours and the complexity of the work. If the painting takes longer than the estimated time you will not be charged any extra.
I will then begin designing your mural. Once you agree on the design I will require an approval and a deposit that is 1/4 of the quoted fee.
(I would expect the client to arrange for any scaffolding or any other special equipment).
I can then begin painting the agreed mural.
Payment
After the first 1/3 of the estimated time has passed I will require a further 1/4 of the quoted price.
After the 2/3 point I will require a further 1/4 of the quoted amount.
The final payment being the last 1/4 of the quotation is payable when the mural is complete.
If you wish, you can copy and paste the grey text and print this information for reference.
FAQ's
1. What sort of paint do you use and is it toxic?
I use emulsion and acrylic paints. These paints are non-toxic and are also very durable.
2. What surfaces can you paint on?
Almost anything. I have painted on the bonnet of my car and I have also painted on black leather. Plastic doesn't agree with the paint as it is easily chipped off. It is not suitable for vinyl wallpaper either.
3. How would we know what the finished mural will look like?
It will follow the initial plan but these plans could develop and differ slightly as I often think of new ideas as I progress, and with your approval, will change certain aspects of the painting. The mural will be to the best of my ability. This website should confirm that ability.
4. Do you do murals for businesses?
Yes. Cafes, Bars, Restaurants, Schools, Hospitals, Nurseries. Anything is considered.
5. Can you work irregular hours?
I can sometimes, if this is necessary.
6. Do you accept credit cards?
No. Though cheques are accepted.
7. How should the walls be prepared?
Plaster walls must be in reasonably good condition, free of holes and sealed with a primer coat of good quality matt emulsion. Very rough exterior walls are not suitable.

DofASINGLE WALL FANTASY ROOM
lPlease note that some of these murals are not designs created by Harry Davis. For example: The fantasy mural is a compilation of paintings originally created by three famous and popular artists- although the mural versions Harry has painted here are much larger than the original paintings.
It is far more common for a client to desire a very particular image then have Harry create a new one.
Harry will gladly design and paint a wholly original mural if this is what you require.
There are many portraits on this coat. Most of them are faces found on old masterpieces. Artists such as Van Dyck, Rubens and Velasquez. Queen and a couple of 2000AD characters are also present.
